Ministry Cross

The Ministry Team seeks to turn members into ministers by helping members discover their spiritual gifts for ministry.  The team guides them to find either an existing place for ministry or a new ministry.

The primary outreach ministry of the church is the Emergency Food Pantry, as the church is a member agency of the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank (www.feedingamerica.org).  The Emergency Food Pantry is open one evening each month, on the third Monday, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  Community members in need can come by to pick up a box of food which is sufficient to feed them for an entire week -- they only need to fill out a brief, confidential form.  The dates the pantry is open in 2010 are:

January 18                  February 15               March 15               April 19

May 17                       June 21                     July 19                  August 16

September 20             October 18                 November 15         December 20

In addition to the Emergency Food Pantry, there are a number of non-profit agencies in the community which members can be referred to for service in their particular area of interest.  Members should contact a member of the Ministry Team (Debbie Dail, Rosa Haywood, and James Teasley) for guidance.  Members wishing to start a new ministry should also contact the Ministry Team for assistance.

The Ministry Team, in collaboration with the Senior Pastor, is also responsible for oversight of the Benevolent Fund.  A full description of the Benevolence Policy, as well as applications, are available from the links at the bottom of this page.
